Bulk Tequila & Agave Spirit

Tequila and other agave spirits, such as Mezcal, are deeply rooted in Mexican culture and are produced from the agave plant, a succulent native to the region. Tequila, the most famous of these spirits, must be made exclusively from the blue agave (Tequilana Weber) and is produced primarily in specific regions like Jalisco under strict regulations that protect its designation of origin. It is known for its distinct, clean agave flavour and can be classified into 100% Blue Agave Tequila, which is made entirely from blue agave and bottled at origin, and Tequila Mixto, which contains at least 51% blue agave sugars blended with other sugars. Mezcal, a broader category of agave spirits, can be made from several types of agave plants and is traditionally produced in regions like Oaxaca using ancient methods that impart a distinctive smoky flavour. Both Tequila and Mezcal display the diversity and richness of agave spirits, offering a wide range of flavour profiles and production methods that reflect their unique terroirs and cultural significance.

Tequila Blanco Mixto

Tequila Blanco Mixto is an unaged, clear tequila made from a mix of at least 51% blue agave sugars and up to 49% other sugars. This type of tequila is typically bottled immediately after distillation or after a short resting period in stainless steel tanks.

Tequila Oro Mixto

Tequila Oro, also known as Gold Tequila, is typically a mixto tequila that is unaged or slightly aged and often has caramel colour or other flavourings added to give it a golden hue. It is made from a minimum of 51% blue agave sugars, with the remainder coming from other sugars.

Tequila 100% Agave (Bottled at Origin)

This tequila is made entirely from blue agave and is often produced in small batches by artisanal distilleries. It is distilled and bottled within the designated tequila-producing regions of Mexico, ensuring authenticity and adherence to traditional production methods.

Mezcal

Mezcal is a traditional Mexican spirit made from several types of agaves, not just the blue agave used for tequila. It is primarily produced in Oaxaca, although other regions also produce Mezcal. The agave hearts are typically roasted in earthen pits, giving Mezcal its distinctive smoky flavour. It can be made from a single type of agave or a blend, and it ranges in flavour depending on the type of agave, production methods, and aging process.
